Holloway House Project Update

Holloway Hostel Aged Care Community Hub Update

Following the Holloway House AGM the Community House was officially declared open on Sunday19th November 2018 by Keilor Rotarian Mr John Dean. John thanked all the sponsors of the project and the many keilor Rotarians who contributed their labour during the project.

The Rotary Club of Keilor has had a long association with the Holloway Hostel Aged Care Facility and helped with the construction of the Aged Care Facility many years ago.   It’s a pleasure to help them again with their latest venture, “The Community Hub”.
The concept is to have a building that that can be used in a similar way to Men’s-Shed by special interest groups within our community, to use and share with like-minded residents.   It will be available to small community groups who will be joined by residents with similar interests to allow them to socialise with the wider community while being in the safe easy to reach environment.
The Rotary Club of Keilor has taken the lead on this project using the skills of many of our members and their business, to provide significant building works, to fire proof the building, significant plumbing works, painting and concreting of a pathway. All of these tasks required detailed project management and negotiation skills. Thanks to the donation by club members providing free of charge building materials and significant donations of time the project is nearing completion. The project has been funded with the assistance of a Federal Government Grant and fundraising by the Rotary Clubs of Keilor and Keilor East
