The Rotary Club of Keilor is held its 12th annual  Car & Vintage Bike Show on Sunday the 6th  May 2018   in the grounds of the historic Keilor Hotel
As always, all profits from the Car Show will be directed towards Rotary projects.  Once again this year the principal beneficiary this year will be a pre-sentence program focused on preventing alcohol and risk related trauma among young people - particularly arising from dangerous and hoon driving (run in conjunction with the Sunshine Magistrate’s Court, Victoria Police and the Royal Melbourne Hospital Trauma Service).  Each program involves 30 young road offenders in a confronting three part counselling and face to face experience regime (including with victims and families of serious motor vehicle accidents) before returning to Court to present their individual program experiences, and its impacts on them, prior to sentencing.   Evidence of the success of the program is that just 9% of its participants are seen in Court again within one year. The program is run by The Youth Junction Incorporated (a not for profit which manages the Visy Cares Hub in Sunshine and which consolidates youth services in the complex youth demographic that makes up the Western Region of Melbourne).
